My name is Kristy Potts and I am the owner of a WA Based Business Bright Stars Eye Patches.
I have been making & supplying patches to children around Australia since 2010, to help them with Patching in a fun & positive way.
I decided to start this business after one day I noticed that my daughter Hayley’s, left eye was turning slightly inwards. After seeing an Ophthalmologist her diagnosis was Microtropia, Esotropia, Anisometropic, Hyperopia and Amblyopia, also know as 'LAZY EYE'. Hayley had to wear a patch for two hours a day over a six month period.
The doctor provided us with some Adhesive Band-Aids to put over the good eye, though, the removal of the adhesive caused a lot of emotional distress for both Hayley and myself.
After many trials, I have designed an eye patch that easily attaches to glasses and blocks out the light – designed to avoid those nasty adhesive patches on the eye.
Our Patches are not only comfortable to wear but also look great and use lightweight washable materials free from azo dyes and formaldehyde.
